Who's Behind Mind-Body Clarity

Zoe Zuniga Wellness Writer

Hi there! I’m thrilled you’re here!

I’m, Zoe Zuniga, a holistic wellness writer at Mind-Body Copy.

I have been in the health and fitness field for over 20 years, first as an aerobics instructor.

I taught low impact dance aerobics and step class back when thong leotards and leg warmers were popular in the late 80s and early 90s.

Whew! I am so glad thong leotards are gone because everyone looked terrible in those ridiculous outfits.

As the queen of self-reinvention I became a sports massage therapist, and finally a Pilates trainer.

The theme here is that I wised up and got into modalities that were easier on the body than aerobics.

Now I’m working on my plant-based nutrition certification. I realized that fitness is only part of true health. Nutrition is also key to wellness. I love learning new things!

I have been a freelancer/artrepreneur since graduating from college and have another blog for creatives called mindfuljoyful.com

My mission is to help you feel great with whole-foods plant-based nutrition tips, and to help the world feel better with green ideas and products.

What if we could have a high tech eco-village of a world with locally grown food, long-lasting products, and no more planned obsolescence for anything?

Once I realized processed food addiction was a real thing my whole life made a little more sense.

Emotions played a big part of course, but there was a chemical/physical component I wasn’t fully aware of.

Food-like substances can change your brain for the worse, stimulating the pleasure centers in almost the same way as heroin and cocaine in those who are sensitive to them.

And no, I am not overstating it. Brain scans show similar results with both street drugs and processed foods in sensitive people. Some people are more susceptible than others.

Once I understood how processed food was affecting my brain, I was able to stay on a whole foods diet a lot more of the time.

Within a few months, I dropped 40 pounds without having to diet or restrict my eating. I also improved my symptoms for life long chronic fatigue, depression, and fibromyalgia.

Life is not perfect now but it’s getting better.
